The Do-Re-Mi Raid Plot Summary
The Do-Re-Mi Raid is set during World War II, when a group of Allied soldiers known as The Rat Patrol conduct raids and sabotage missions against the German forces in North Africa. The leader of the group is Sergeant Sam Troy ( Christopher George ), who is joined by Sergeant Jack Moffitt ( Gary Raymond ), a British expert on the desert, Private Mark Hitchcock ( Lawrence Casey ), a mechanic and driver, and Private Tully Pettigrew ( Justin Tarr ), a sharpshooter and explosives expert.
In this episode, Troy allows himself to be captured by Captain Hans Dietrich ( Eric Braeden ), the German commander who is always trying to stop The Rat Patrol. Troy's mission is to rescue Private First Class Mickey Roberts ( Jack Jones ), a famous singer who was shot down and taken prisoner by the Germans. Roberts is a morale booster for the American people, who are eager to see him return home safely.
However, Troy soon discovers that Roberts is not interested in escaping, as he enjoys singing for the Germans and living in comfort. Roberts also believes that he can help end the war by using his influence with Dietrich and other high-ranking officers. Troy tries to convince Roberts that he is being used as a propaganda tool by the enemy, but Roberts refuses to listen.
Meanwhile, Moffitt, Hitchcock and Pettigrew plan to raid the prison camp and free Troy and Roberts. They also learn that there is another prisoner, Perkins ( Harvey Jason ), who is a British intelligence agent with vital information about the German plans. They decide to rescue Perkins as well, even though he is not as famous or important as Roberts.
The Rat Patrol manage to infiltrate the camp and create a diversion. Troy and Perkins escape, but Roberts decides to stay behind and sing one last song for Dietrich and his men. However, he realizes too late that he has made a mistake, as he sees Troy and Perkins being chased by German soldiers. He grabs a machine gun and provides cover fire for them, sacrificing his life in the process.
Troy and Perkins reach the rendezvous point with Moffitt, Hitchcock and Pettigrew. They drive away in their jeeps, while Dietrich arrives at the camp and finds Roberts' body. He salutes him in respect, as he remembers his songs. aa16f39245
